As you know, I love to use stories (and my photography by extension) to convey ideas, inspire growth, and create memorable or notable learning experiences. In this week’s TLC call, I shared how Storytelling can be your Leadership Power Tool to engage, simplify, inspire/motivate, transmit culture, build trust, and share insights.
Storytelling works because it’s emotional, memorable, clear, concise, easy to understand, and keeps things consistent.

#1 Feel, Felt, Found Storytelling
We’ve all heard this format/method of storytelling. It’s also known as the “infomercial model”
“I understand how you feel...”
“Others felt that way when...”
“What they found was...”
(…and of course, the implied “but wait! There’s more!)
#2 Hero’s Journey Storytelling
This model can be found in many classic stories, from Luke Skywalker to Frodo Baggins, to Harry Potter, we can see how the hero’s journey can lead us through a series of phases that carry the main character through changes or challenges and envision triumph at the end.
