Shifting from Change Awareness to Change Management (00:05:29) - As big changes start this week in the real estate industry, leaders need to shift strategy from awareness and information, towards action and reinforcement. Focusing on behavioral changes, new skills, best practices and reinforcing the new standards is critical to sustaining long-term change. It also drives confidence and commitment for everyone at your firm - as well as consumers. Redirecting agents away from compensation obsession (00:25:05) - It’s important to provide your people with techniques and tools to see beyond the immediate changes and take advantage of broader opportunities that changes bring. Especially, redirecting their away from fear and prohibitions will improve their ability to navigate the changes and get back on track towards growth.
Being Present as a Leader (00:38:41) - We discussed multiple ways to engage with salespeople, staff, and even competitors. Leaders use multiple venues - from open houses to expanded “gotta minute” availability - to be present, coach and praise positive changes as they happen. Clear your schedule of minor activities and make “your presence” the priority for as long as it takes.
