How to Host Amazing Meetings
As always, great meetings matter - and leaders know that meetings help their people stay focused on the right work and maintain momentum in any market conditions. Keep these three things in mind:
Meetings are a matter of PLANNING AND PREPARATION. Don’t do them last minute. Send out your agenda days or a week in advance, too, so your salespeople know what’s going to happen and can plan to be there. Put as much effort into meetings as you do recruiting calls, coaching or any other part of your job.
Create INVOLVEMENT points purposely in your meetings. Tell attendees what to “bring” - from best practices and stories to examples of their marketing and materials. Design meetings so people PARTICIPATE, not just listen.
Focus on WORK, not information. Use meetings to move your company goals forward, by giving people DIRECTION (where to focus prospecting, consumer trends to notice, market indicators) as well as SUPPORT (recognition for hard work, rewards for achievement, motivation always). Your meetings should be worth the time and money your people MIGHT HAVE OTHERWISE EARNED if they weren’t in a meeting of the SAME VALUE!

Using Mentimeter
As I noted in the call today, I love using Mentimeter.com as a training and engagement tool. It’s a simple online system for making interactive slides - including polls, surveys, ranking, open questions, and word clouds - that you can use in classes, meetings and large events. Mentimeter works with any smartphone - it creates a QR code opening slide for the attendees to scan, then points their browser to your slides. It’s a great way to help people engage when they aren’t directly connected to an online webinar (such as a watch party or large audience venue), and can be useful to keep people looking at your material rather than scrolling nonsense on their smartphones during your meetings. And, all of the responses are saved - so you can download and analyze them later, or send out summary PDFs fast to everyone who attended. Check it out (Note: Mentimeter has no idea I’m recommending them; no affiliate relationship exists between us.)

Consumer Reports, Market Data and Sales Resources
This week a number of cool resources were mentioned and shared on the call - useful for meetings, training, coaching and otherwise keeping up on market conditions, including:
NAR’s Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers Report (an absolute must-read for all leaders)
Matthew’s YouTube channel has quick clips regarding key data from the NAR report - perfect for meetings and training discussions.
Our friends at Altos Media’s YouTube page with Mike Simonsen is another great source of quick clips on market data - perfect to kick off a meeting and generate discussion with salespeople and staff.
